LARGER LIVESTOCK NEWS FUND ASKED Congress Urged to increase Indianapolis Allotment. Indianapolis is one of five cities needing- larger Federal appropriation for distribution, by radio, telegraph and otherwise, of livestock news to farmers, it was asserted before the Senate Agriculture Committee today, a Washington dispatch said. Representative James Begg of Ohio and Henry Ballard, representing Ohio livestock growers, urged the committee to increase appropriations for Indianapolis, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Buffalo and Pittsburgh. They said Congress in the past had appropriated adequate funds for dissemination of livestock news only in western States, overlooking entirely the fact that Indiana- Ohio and western Pennsylvania are among the Nation’s most important live stock sections. GILLETTE OUT FOR SENATE Speaker of House to Be "Administration Candidate.” By United Press WASHINGTON, May 9.—Speaker Gillette of the House of Representatives today will announce himself a candidate for the Senate from Massachusetts. He will be the “administration candidate.” Gillette’s final decision to enter the Senate race was reached this morning at a White House conference, the last of a series he has had with President Coolidge and _C. Bascom Slemp, the President's secretary. WRITER TO GlvE ADDRESS Authority on Mexico W ill Speak at Athenaeum Saturday. Frank Tannenbaum, New York, an authority on Mexico, will lecture at the Athenaeum Saturday night on “The Struggle in Mexico.” Mr. Tannenbaum, who is a regular magazine contributor recently spent nine months in the Southern republic getting material for an article to be published soon.
