SPECIAL MUSICAL PROGRAMS ON NEW PHOTOPLAY BILLS Orchestra, Soloists and Novelty Stunts Are Planned, m USIC will have an important place at the Indianapolis movie theaters next week. The managers have done their part in cooperat.ng with the committee on National Music Week. The Miami Lucky Seven will open an engagement Sunday at the Ohio. The Circle will present a musical film with a special orchestra score, and the Apollo will have a special musical program. The feature films next week include: “The Woman on the Jury” at the Circle: “Three Weeks.“ at the Ohio; Harold Lloyd in “Girl Shy" at the Apollo; “Westbound,” at the Isis; “Name the Man." at Mister Smith’s and “Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall” at B. F. Keith's. -I- I- -ICIRCLE THEATER TO OBSERVE NATIONAL MUSIC WEEK The Circle featured attraction be- ‘ ginning Sunday will be the screen version of the stage play, “The Woman on the Jury,” in which Mary New- ; comb was starred on the legitimate stage, in the role which Sylvia Bream• er is appearing in the flint adaptation. The story concerns Betty Brown, successful business girl. who. on the day of her marriage to Fred Masters, is subpoenaed for jury duty in the case of Grace Montgomery, a girl who is on trial for the murder of her betrayer. The jury is eleven to one in favor of a verdict of guilty for the unfortunate girl, hut Betty Brown refuses to cast her vote against the girl. After vainly pleading and arguing with the members of the jury, of which her bridegroom is one. Betty tells them of the secret of her past—that she had been deceived by the murdered man. also, and that he had taunted her to the point where she. too, had shot him. with his own gun, but that the bullet she had fired at him had missed him. Her story wins a verdict of not guilty for the defendant, hut almost wrecks her own happiness. Frank Mayo is seen as the husbandjuror, Lew Cody is the philanderer. Bessie Love is the second deceived girl, and others in the cast are Mary Carr, Hobart Bosworth, Mary Carr, Ford Sterling. Jean Hearsholt and Stanton Heck. In “Girl Shy" Lloyd appears as Harold Meadows, a small town tailor's apprentice, who. though bashful to the extreme, thinks he knows all about girls, and the art of making love successfully. In fact he is writing a book, which, he plans, will revolutionize the time honored method* I employed in capturing feminine fancy, and be his contribution to the enlightenment of his fellow man. The story is laid on the Isle of Man and deals with the youthful deemster, or judge of the island, and the trial of the girl he had betrayed for the murder of her child. Conrad Nagel in the leading role, and Mae Busch plays the unfortunate girl. Patsy Ruth Miller is the deemster’s sweetheart, and others appearing are Creighton Hale, Hobart Bosworth. Aileen Pringle, Evelyn Selble and Dewitt Jennings. William S. Hart in a two-reel western drama, "Jim Cameron's Wife" and a news reel complete the program. ABORN PICKS CASI FOR SUMMER OPERA AT B.J. KEITH’S Noted Players Rehearsing in New York for First Musical Comedy, Milton Aborp, who will send his opera company to B. F. Keith’s for a summer engagement starting Monday, May 19, writes C. Roltare Eggleston, manager of the local theater, that he has the ecompany in rehearsal In New York. Aborn will have companies in Cincinnati, Cleveland and other cities as well as Indianapolis. Among the principals who will be seen in the Indianapolis company are Charles Massanger, Frederick W-heel-er, Lee Daley, Joseph Monahan, Philip Oberg, Elinor Edeson, Loretta Sheridan, Edith Bradford, Edna Granville and Hans Urine, all of whom have reputations with musical organizations. A complete scenic production will be built for every offering presented during the engagement. To this end a force of stage mechanics are now busily engaged at the Keith Theater building and painting various sets for the opening p.oduction. which will be Victor Herbert’s musical comedy, “Sweethearts." There will be a chorus of twenty-four. Eggleston announces that season reservations are coming in rapidly for the first four attractions, which are “Sweethearts,” “The Clinging Vine." “Tangerine" and “Robin--1 hood."

BANDS PLAY AT CONCERT The high school bands will contribute their share toward the success of Music week by giving their fifth annual combined band concert on Friday evening, May 9, at Caleb Mills Hall. The concert will feature also the Manual Training High School mixed chorus. Arsenal Technical High School boys’ ocettte and the Shortridge High School Girls' Glee Club.
