ACT TO CUT BABY MORTALITY RATE Plan Health Day to Educate in Care of Children. Efforts to reduce the infant mortality rate in Indianapolis will be centered on Child Health day. May 1, Dr. Herman G. Morgan, secretary of the board of health, said today. The city infant death rate last year of children 1 year and under was seventy-four for each 1,000. Dr. Morgan said it was hoped to decrease that to fifty. A campaign to educate parents on proper nutrition and care of babies has been outlined by Paul Kirby, director of child hygiene. Mayor Shank will issue a proclamation pointing out the importance of the day. Local milk companies have been asked to aid and State and county officials are working out plans. Childrens’ wards in hospitals will be opened for visitors during the day and downtown merchants will be asked to display proper food. clot Wing, equipment and playthings of children tending toward better health. The Xyack plan is a Xation-wide attempt to interest persons, especially non-churchgoers, in law enforcement. Sale of House Questioned Henry Williams. 914 E. Thirtieth St., has obtained a temporary order restraining Mrs. Sarah E. Yeager. 3048 Carson Ave., and her son. Roy C.. from instituting suit to eject him from his home. Williams alleges he leased the property from Mrs. Yeager. Jan. 5, 1922. for five years, and that now Mrs. Yeager claims to have sold the place to her son “for sl, love and affection and a home,” on Oct. 19. 1921.
