Grand Stock Players to Meet Patrons on Stage Next Week
•"1 ELIX)M are theater patrons acC corded the privilege of a social visit “back stage” where in the innermost shrine of the playhouse they can enjoy a chat with the actors and actresses whom they have admired from the other side of the footlights. Manager Charles Berkell of the Grand Players, who will open their second summer season of stock at English's Sunday night in Irene Bordini's comedy hit “The French Doll,” has arranged this treat for his patrons, and following the matinee performances on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday next week the members of the company will hold a public reception on the stage for the purpose of renewing old acquaintances and making new ones. Everybody is invited, and there will be nothing formal about the affair. For the next several months Indianapolis will be “home” to every one of the Grand Players. They are anxious to make friends with as many people here as possible. Their work Is of such an exacting nature, what with rehearsals of one play while presenting another, that they have little opportunity for social diversion, and it is only through the medium of a public reception that they have a chance to come into personal contact with the folks who constitute their audience. -I- -I- -I“MORNING GLORIES” TOPS NEW BILL AT PALACE “Morning Glories,” a frolic presented by four funsters, is shown at the Palace the latter part of this week, beginning today. Arthur Tyson, Dorothy Beatty, James Ritz and Ethel Winston are responsible for the melange of fun, song and dance, assisted by the lyrics written by Alex Gerber and the music composed by Dave Drvere. Frank Dixon, known because of his acting In “Romance of the Underworld.” has the head role in a skit entitled “Lonesome Manor.” In this production he takes the part of a young man who has migrated to Broadway, leaving behind a small town. Hailing from Ireland, Nora Kelly, comedienne, gives a program consisting entirely of Irish songs and wit.

SAFETY STARTS AT HOME Chief Riedel Says Stoves in Engine Houses Violate Law. Chief Jacob Riedel of the fire prevention bureau will notify firemen that open fires in stoves in engine houses must be discontinued.
