INDIANAPOLIS WATER CO.
THE INDIANAPOLIS TIMES
Pure Water and Plenty of It The first essential of the Home Complete TN THE GOOD OLD PIONEER DAYS -1-the home was just as complete as granddad and the neighbors could make it —and no more. The neighboring forest furnished material for house and furniture, as well as the winter’s fuel. Food, summer and winter, was limited to the produce-of the land. Clothing was made by grandmother from the wool of the sheep that granddad raised. *A SPRING OF CLEAR, COOL WATER was the thing that granddad looked for before he built His cabin. He knew that there was no use of setting stakes without water around. Os course, if th£ cabin got on fire, the family bucket brigade was the fire department. If it burned down, as generally was the case, the neighbors fell to work and built anew home. Everybody worked around the place, when they were not having chills and fever or chilblains. If the boys and girls grew up, they were lean and sturdy. They had to be sturdy to survive. THE GOOD OLD DAYS ARE GONE THE BETTER NEW DAYS ARE HERE TODAY’S home complete bears little resemblance to the cabin of pioneer days. Comfort and convenience are the watchwords. Materials from all the world can be used in its construction. The family food supply, instead of being the dried or smoked or stored food of early days, comes fresh, or preserved as good as fresh, from every clime. ONE THING STILL HOLDS TRUE—THE FIRST ESSENTIAL OF A COMFORTABLE, COMPLETE HOME, IS WATER. Bath, toilet, kitchen, laundry, garage, lawn-—each has its special equipment for the convenience of the modern family. And instead of chills and fevers, the family today is healthy, because the home and the city are complete in sanitation. v v Granddad and, his family have qone to their reward . THE GOOD OLD DAYS ARE . GONE. In their place are THE BETTER NEW DAYS of comfort , convenience and cleanliness in home s co m pie te where WATER SERVICE IS ESSENTIAL.
