STRIKE IN LONDON THREATENS BRITISH LABOR MINISTRY Subway Workers and Light Employes May Go on Sympathy Walkout, fly United Pres* LONDON, March 28—The labor vernmer.t may fall if Premier MacDonald is unsucessful in averting a strike of subway workers In sympathy with tram and busmen, political , bservers believed today. The sympathy strike is scheduled for midnight and MacDonald sum • i oned opposing parties in the transportation dispute to tb© ministry of ,J>:-r early today for a desperate eleventh hour effort to avert the threatened walkout. Such a strike would complete the paralysis of London's transportation and its consequence might readily involve the fall of the government. The crisis is considered the most serious MacDonald yet has faced. Fearing the strike of subway workers inevitable, big business firms today converted all available space into to accommodate employes who will sleep near their jobs. ‘GOOSIE’ LEE HELD ON NEWCHARGES Golden West Cabaret Named in Affidavits, On affidavits filed in Criminal Court by Special Investigator Claude M. Worley, Harry (Goosie) Lee, colored, 627 W. Michigan St., is held under bond, accused of gaming and visiting a gambling house at 522 Indiana Ave., the Golden West Cabaret. John Neeley, colored, 319 W. Vermont St., was arrested with Lee. Lee, an "Avenue” politician, and Neeley already face a six months term on the Indiana State I* arm, given last year on conviction of maintaining a gambling house at the Golden West in 1922. The conviction recently was affirmed by the Supremo Court. In addition, Lee recently was charged with shooting with intent to kill, according to Worley. Archie (Joker) Young, colored, proprietor of the Golden West, is serving a term of six months meted out by the Criminal Court jury when he was jointly indicted with I.ee and Neeley last year.
