When anew home is built one of the most important features to every I member of the family is the heating ; system. The health and comfort of all the family depends upon efficient and complete heating. The health and comfort needs of the 1 dwellere In homes has been the subject of a large amount of study by the L. C. Thiele Company, manufacturers of heating plants. By the use of new inventions the Thiele company has been enabled to provide the highest type of warming and ventilation for homes. The Thiele automatic forced air warming and ventilating system is the culmination of twenty-seven years’ experience of the firm. The volume of heat produced by this system is regulated at the desire of the owner by means of a thermostat which controls automatically the draft of the fire and the forced circulation fan. When the temperature falls below the desired point, the draft opens and the fan is started. When the temperature rises above the desired degree, the draft closes and the fan stops. This control is simple, reliable and noiseless, A clock attachment is set to lower the temperature automatically at night and raises it before time for the family to be awake in the morning. Even this efficient device is not complicated and it w'orks faithfuly to serve its owner. The most modem of the Thiele warming and ventilating systems Is encased in brick walls where there is no waste of heat into the basement. All the warm air is forced up the conductors into the rooms. In case repairs are necessary, any pkrt of the plant can be removed through the front, repaired and replacel without tearing out any of the brick encasement. HOME PURCHASING SHOWSJNCREASE Building and Loans Associations Popular Financing Source. Under the building and loan plan of financing, there were purchased in Indiana in the year 1923, a total of 10,509 homes. This was 3,533 more than were bought in this manner in the yetir preceding. These figures were compiled in the office of Charles F. Harper, of the building and loan department of the State bunking department. The records were made from the reports of 377 building and loan associations operating in the State last year. A total of 6,201 new homes were built in 1923 under the building and loan association plprn as compared with 2,947 erected in this manner in 1922. Improvements on more than 6,000 homes were financed through building and loan association methods. The building and loan associatirins in Indiana reported a large increase in assets last year as compared to the previous twelve months, the total russets of all the associations in the State

There were 298.001 residents of Indiana holding memberships in building and loan associations last year. Os this number 195,936 persons had investments in such organizations, while 102,065 were borrowing members of the associations. This was 20,332 more members than were listed on the rec ords of the associations in 1922.
