The men, police say, were found in an automobile taken from Jesse Chrisman, living near Ft. Benjamin Harrison. The statements were made in a letter to State officials recently, which demanded payment of a SI,OOO note Issued by the State Jan. 1,1839. State, officials said investigation failed to show the note had not been paid. Cue said Carpenter inclosed paper German marks, as indicative of what happens to the financial standing of a State which repudiates its obligations. The Nation of March 5 published an article charging repudiation of old debts by the State.
