Palace Again Centers Attention Upon Hunter
By WALTER D. HICKMAN JpjLENN HUNTER in “West of II l-l the Water Tower” is nearly rl— I the whole works on the new Palace bill. Although Hunter has never been seen aere in his stage meal ticket.” “Merton of the Movies.” yet he has big drawing power here in the movies. "West of the Water Tower” was a best seller among the books for months and it has a drawing power m movie form. It is a Main street story with a tear in it. Hunter does pleasing work in it as does May MacAvoy who has a rather sad but sweet part. Ernest Torrence walks away with the character honors of the show. At times the story is a wee bit mixed up. but on the whole it is just the right -eort of a vehicle for the youthful Glenn Hunter. Time and Ward open the vaudeville part of the shaw with a bicycle act in which “bike” jumping is featured. Klass and Brilliant offer a “nut” act ■along musical lines. If they would work a little faster their stuff would get over better. Burke and Durking present a melody act with the use of a piano. Fink's mules, one of the best acts of its kind, closes the bill. Harry Faber and company offer a MOTHER! "California Fig Syrup” Dependable Laxative for Sick Baby or Child Hurry Mother'. Even constipated, bilious, feverish, or sick, colic babies and children love to take genuine "California Fig Syrup." No other laxative regulates the tender little bowels so nicely. It sweetens the stomach and starts the liver and bowels without griping. Contains no narcotics or soothing Say “California” to your druggist and avoid counterfeits. I am free from those terrible bilious attacks and 1 have no pain of any kind. I am now finishing my third bottle. He spoke in favor of curbing the laws which make it possible to change school textbooks every few years.
