C. OP C. MEMBERS URGED TO ATTEND CAR FARE HEARING Secretary Reynolds Points Out an Increase May Be Only Temporary, Members of the Chamber of Commerce have been urged by John B. Kcynolds, executive secretary, to attend the public hearing on street car rates before the city council Monday night. Reynolds In a letter to the members naid: “It Is absolutely essential that business and professional interests be represented at this meeting in an adequate manner and by individuals ready and willing to express their opinions. There is little doubt that opponents of any increase in fares will be present in full force and that their opposition will be vigorously expressed. “The condition of the local Street Railway Company Is deplorable. Its effect on business and industry in general Is direct and unfavorable. Benjamin Perk, the expert accountant investigating the finances of the company for Indianapolis, states that in his opinion almost $300,000 additional annual income is necessary for the company to function properly and to make necessary replacements and extensions possible. Perk makes the intelligent suggestion that such increases as may be granted shall be for an indeterminate period, the increase therefore to be of a temporary nature subject to reduction by the council when the company is in a position to get along with a lower rate of fare.” SMOKE SCREEN ROLLS ON Statehou.se Boilers Remain at Mercy of Legislature’s Action. Statehouse chimneys will have to continue to belch clouds of smoke since the last session of the General Assembly would not appropriate money for new equipment for the building. Governor McCray has rereived a letter from the smoke abatement committee of the Chamber of Commerce asking that the State cooperate with the city in enforcing the smoke ordinance. No funds are available for overhauling the heating system. SULPHUR CLEARS ROUGH, REG SI Face, Neck and Arms Easily Made Smooth, Says Specialist. Any breaking out of the skin, even fiery, itching eczema, can be quickly overcome by applying a little MenthoSulphur. declares a noted skin specialist. Because of its germ destroying properties, this sulphur preparation begins at once to soothe irritated skin and heal eruptions such as rash, pimples and ring worm. It seldom fails to remove the torment and disfigurement, and you do not have to wait for relief from embarrassment. Improvement quickly shows. Sufferers from skin trouble should obtain a small jar of Rowles Mentho-Suiphur from any good druggist and use it tike cold cream.—Advertisement.
to attract must Radiate Health/ BEAUTY is the magnet which draws all eyes—and back of beauty—Health —working silently. Red blood tingling through the veins;—the glow of youth in the cheeks;—the spring of eager* ness, of vim, of vitality in the walk;—the ever graceful air, unrestrained by care or worry.—All the charms of beauty. All the works of health. Men are fascinated by the charms of beauty. Women gaze with envy, secretly jealous, perhaps— wondering—hoping—praying for that attractiveness that is not theirs. But why the wondering—the hoping the praying for that craved- for attractiveness—that beauty. Good looks is the barometer of one's condition. Good health radiates beauty. S. S. S. purifies the blood—creates new red blood cells —rids the system of impurities which make beauty and attractiveness impossible. As women to attract must radiate health so must they keep their systems free from impurities and their red blood cells ever increasing. S. S. S. does both. S. S. S., since 1526, has been ridding the system of impurities—pimples, blackheads, boils, eczema and rheumatism—b uild in g red blood cells —aiding women to be attractive by radiating health. 8. S. S. is made of carefully selected herbs and bark*, scientifically prepared and proportioned. All good drug stores carry S. S. S.
