Girl Appeals Sentence In Liquor Case, Mrs. Evelyn Johnson, 21, alias Thelma Patterson, Clinton, Ind., living- at 2063 Central Ave., was at liberty today under $5,000 bond, on an appeal to Supreme Court of a sentence of six months to the Indiana Woman's prison and fine of SSOO and costs. Michael Finn, professional bondsman, signed the bond. Mrs. Johnson was sentenced Sat up l day by Criminal Judge James A. Collins on a liquor charge. She was given sixty days to file a bill of exceptions, and ninety days to file an appeal. One hundred five-gallons of alcohol seized when Mrs. Johnson was arrested Jan. 3 in a high-powered car. were destroyed by the sheriff, on order of the judge. The automobile was ordered sold. Officers charged Mrs. Johnson “lent an air of respectability” to a car used by rum-runners. t
