SPECIAL SERVICES PAY HOMAGE 10 WOODROW WILSON American Legion Men Will; Attend Funeral of War President, In memory of former President Woodrow Wilson, whose funeral will be held Wednesday In Washington, various Indianapolis organizations united today in paying tribute. Many messages of condolence to Mrs. Wilson. A memorial service at 2 p. m. Wednesday is being arranged by the Indiana Democratic Club. Ex-Vice President Thomas R. Marshall and the Rev. Jean S. Mi|ner, pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church, mayt speak. . National Comrpander John R. Quinn of the American Legion and his staff will attend the Washington ceremony. All post flags have been ordered draped in mourning for thirty days. Editors to Pay Tribute The banquet of the Indiana Democratic Editorial Association Feb. 14 will be a memorial service to the war President. Speakers will include Marshall, Dr. Robert Judson Aley, president of Butler University, Senator Samuel M. Ralston and Alvin Howsley of Dallas, Tex., ex-national commander of the American Legion. Members of the Robert E. Kennington Post of the Legion will hold a memorial service at noon Thursday at B. F. Keith's theater. C. Roltare Eggleston, manager, donated the theater and orchestra. A memorial service was held Monday night by members of the Catherine Merrill Tent No. 9. Daughters of Veterans, at Morrison's Hall. Tribttte was paid also to Mrs. Samuel Lewis Shank and to R. H. Bosworth, •division commander of Sons of Veterans. Flags Fly at Half-Staff Flags were at half-mast throughout the city. The garrison flag at Ft. Harrison flew at half-staff on official orders. Messages have been sent to Mrs. Wilson by the Women’s Research Club, the Indianapolis Federation of Community Civic Clubs, the Indianapolis League of Women Voters, the Marion County chapter of th-3 American War Mothers, the Seventh District Democratic Woman's Club, the Founders’ chapter of the American War Mothers, the Hamilton Berry Chapter of the Service Star Legion, the Indiana Women s Republican Club and the Indiana League of Women Voters. Seventy-five years’ indefatigable labor among the sick and poor has won she cross of the Legion of Honor for a venerable French nun, Sister Francis Xavier, now 93 years old.

DEFENDANT IN HOSPITAL Former Postal Clerk Takes Poison Rather Than Fate Judge. Albert E. Reed, 23, of Old Augusta, Ind., is in a serious condition at the city hospital today following an attempted suicide late Monday by swallowing three ouncea ft poison. Ke, ex-postal clerk, took poison in
the office of his attorney, Emsley W. Johnson, 709 People’s Bank building, rather than face Judge A. B. Anderson in Federal Court on charge of stealing from the mails. Although Reed’s bond was ordered forfeited when he failed to appear in court. Judge Anderson may set the order aside. Reed said he failed to get his notice and when summoned wanted to "end It all.” OUSTED MAYOR APPEALS By Times Special to the Clay Circuit Court haa been filed by Mayor James Q. Layne, recently Impeached by unanimous vote of the city council. TIHs halts the action of the council until disposition is made of the case, which must be done within ten days. The mayor was found guilty of neglect of duty. Eugene Wardkaw, coal dealer, Republican, has been discussed as successor to Layne.

MARKET PRICES UNVARIED Strawberries and Cauliflower Hold Top Places. Prices at the city market on nearly all commodities remained about the same today. Strawberries, selling at 50 to 66 cents a quart, and ealiflower, 86 to 65 cents a head, were price leaders. Oranges were selling at 30 cents a dozen; tomatoes, 26 to 30 cents a pound; green onions, 10 cents a bunch and two bunches for 25 cents; homegrown radishes, two for 25 cents; Florida new potatoes, two pounds for 26 cents; green beans, 80 to 85 cents a pound; strictly fresh eggs, 50 cents a dozen; hens, 38 oents a pound; frys, 45 and 50 cents a pound; broilers, 60 cents a pound; butter, 68 to 60 cents a pound.
