structlon of storage facilities for oil obtained from the naval oil reserves. Testifying before the Senate Teapot Dome Investigating Committee Admiral Robison expressed complete approval of the Republican Administration’s activities in leasing to the Doheny and Sinclair interests Naval Reserves Nos. 1, 2 and 3. Asked by Senator Walsh, Democrat, Montana, to explain a statement he had issued to the newspapers on May 2, 1922, in which he had said Reserves Nos. 1 and 2 had been practically destroyed, Admiral Robison testified as follows: “If I said No. 1 was practically destroyed, as that does siy, I was wrong. That is not right. There is no question about it. No. 1 had not been destroyed and is not destroyed now.” Senator Walsh—How did you get your inofrmation concerning the condition of the Naval reserves. Admiral Robison —From various sources. mation from was queer, and I would like to tell about it. It happened several years before 1 was made engineer-in-chief, in 1917, In the harbor of Fensacola, while I was captain of the ship Huntington. And I had in my command a young lieutenant In the Navy, named Doheny, and his father came down to see the boy, and while the boy was busy he came down to see me, and we sat and talked, for an hour or two. He was one of the successful oil magnates, so-called. And in the course of the conversation I asked him what he thought about the way the naval reserves in California were being handled. He said: “Well, It is being handled very well for the people you have for neighbors, but you are not going to have any property there in a very few years.” I was astounded. The information is the sort of information I believe

. . . That, as much as any official information I got from anybody, made me believe the reserves needed protection. Senator Walsh —Is that all the information you had about the matter? Admiral Robison —Well, I gave a good deal of weight to some firsthand information from a man who evidently knew something about it. Senator Wajsh—Mr. Doheny? Admiral Robison—Yes. , Doheny later acquired the leases on naval reserves Nos. 1 and 2. Senator Walsh regards It as one of the strangest coincidences he has ever encountered that Admiral Robison, the officer Doheny had influenced in favor of a leasing pojicy, was placed In charge of the naval oil engineering problems. Dreadful Sideache Mrs. Georg© S. Hunter, of Columbus, Ga., took mother’s advice and now is enjoying good health again, as her picture would suggest. In telling a friend recently about her experience with C/ardui, Mrs. Hunter said: * ‘ After I married, thirteen months ago, I suffered dreadful pains in my sides. . . Mq sides hurt so bad it nearly killed me. I had to go to bed and stay sometimes two weeks at a time. I could not work, and I just dragged around the house. I was irregular and I got very thin. I went from 120 down to less than 100 pounds. “My mother had long been a user of Cardui and she knew what a good medicine it was for this trouble, so she told me to get some and take it Before I had taken the first bottle I began to improve; my sides hurt less and I began to mend in health. I took the second bottle and felt much better. I followed this by two more bottles. The Cardui acted as a fine tonio, and I do not feel like the same ferson, lam so muoh better. lam well now. have gained ten pounds and am still gaining. My sides do not trouble me at all and otherwise I am quite regular. “I wish that every suffering woman knew about Cardui, for it helped me so much I know that it will help others suffering from the same trouble."
