CITY WANTS RENT FORM SPACE Right to Collect on Property Investigated, Business houses would pay the city rent for space they use under sidewalks, if plans of Francis F. Hamil ton, city building commissioner, are carried out. The city legal department is investigating legality of the move. Hamilton has suggested an ordinance requiring business houses to pay 10 cents a square foot as annua] rental fee. Akron, Ohio, charges 10 cents a cubic foot, but Hamilton regarded this figure as too high. “These people are using city property and paying no rent for it,” said Hamilton. The money would go to the city general fund, according to plans.
