LONG COMPANY IS EXPECTING LARGER BUSINESS IN 1324 oii-0-Matic and ox-0-Gas Burners Finding Ready Market, Closing one of the most successful years in its history, the W. D Long Company, distributors for the Williams 011-O-Matic burner and for the Ox-O-Gas burner, predicts an even more prosperous year for 1924. “This year,” said Mr. Long,” we expect to install at least 250 burners in homes over the city. They have proved their worth and gained for themselves a reputation for reliability, cleanliness and ease of operation that is not attained by any other method of heating.” The W. D. Long Company has just recently moved into separate and larger quarters at 144 E. Ohio St., where it can better demonstate to its rapidly growing patronage the merits of the Oil-O-Maiic. A furnace has been set up in the display room of the company and here the Oii-O-Matic burner is actually demonstrated as it would work in the home. "We have recently became distributors for the Ox-O-Gas burner." continued Mr. Long. “It is a burner that was designed for the purpose of use in ranges and cook stoves and in water heaters. Unlike the usual gravity burner, this burner operates without the aid of drafts and because of this fact retains every bit of the heat. “The thremostatic consol, which is a feature of our burners, makes it possible automatically and accurately ” control heat in the house at all 3,” UMBING VALUE PROTO COLO Recent Cold Snap Reveals Worth of Conveniences, The recent cold snap brought home very emphatically the great strides that have been made in the installation of plumbing. It has not been long since every cold snap required a summons upon every available plumber to thaw the frozen pipes, as it was the rule rather than the exception for homes to experience trouble several times during the cold weather, resulting In discomfort, wasted energy and a considerable outlay of money. During the recent low temperature, however, there were not nearly so many calls for plumbers, which showed something of the scientific perfection that has been reached In the installation of plumbing. F. E. Trosky, 294S Central Ave., warns every householder, however, to be sure to shut the water off if leaving the house fpr any period. "Certainly one does not appreciate the satisfaction of good plumbing properly Installed as well during any other season as they do in the very cold weather. Then, indeed, an ever ready supply of hot water is a source of comfort,” said Mr. Trotsky.

FIXTURESSHOW mm taste Individuality Possible in Selection of Lighting, Illumination by electricity is not only the most efficient of all kinds, but is easily the most beautiful. strides have been made in the manu facture of fixtures until at tho present time they are designed so artistically as to greatly enhance the beauty ol the room. Then, too, the great progress made in Indirect lighting has entirely done away with the glare that at first accompanied the electric light. In homes of the finer type there is a certain definite tendency toward the use of more dignified fixtures. In many Instances very beautiful crystal pendant shower chandeliers are placed in the ceilings, especially in the hallways and dining rooms of more formal character. Lights of this type bring a dignity and elegance to the room that bespeaks richness without ostentation. _ \ ‘‘Today, it is quite possible for the home owner to have fixtures in his home that reflect his own personality, so varied are they,” says Mr. W. O. Nagerline, manager of the fixtures department of the Hatfield Electric Company. "Our big display room shows many types as they will appear in the home and we are always glad to give personal advice in regard to the selection of proper fixtures.” WE CORRECT IT GLADLY Misprint In Name of Comer Day Wolf on Honor Roll. RECORD PLATING DEVICE IS USED Instrument Makes Possible Individual Demonstrations, Avery novel device for demonstrating records has been Installed at the Brunswick Shop, 124 N. Pennsylvania St The Auduk-X has the record turn table, like that in the ordinary phonograph, with an electric motor and regular Brunswick tone arm, but instead of having the reproduction follow the regular channel —and issue from the tone chamber, ear phones are connected by cords to the base of the tone arm and the sound is emitted through these. Two people may hear the record at. one rendition. The principal advantage lies in tho fact that the sound of the record is not heard oy any except the two listening in and for this reason in no way interferes with the sale of other records that are being demonstrated in tho boothes or on other Auduk-X tables. According to W. J. Baker, manager, never have the models been so beautiful as the now Brunswicks now on display—they range from the large, electrically-driven Beaux Arts of French influence through types and midels symbolical of the best styles of England and Italy in six machines of tmple and dignified proportions to the small console suitable for small apartment and living room use. Emison at Chicago Ewing Emison, Vincennes, manager of the Coolidge campaign in Indiana, was in Chicago today to confer with Coolidge western managers. He is expected to open headquarters hero next week.

On the other hand,'the reaction of the reader is liable to be negative if the newspaper is not of the higher class,” he declared. Julian Wetzel, president of the Keystone Press, paid a tribute to Benjamin Franklin. Dividends on Community Fund Social work of the Indianapolis Community civic club funds may be valued at $978,947.95 on an investment of $513,375.53, according to figures of Homer W. SNOOKER TABLES RECEIVED HERE Brunswick - Balke - Coliender Cos, Introduces New Sport, Although a few games have orig lnated in the United States, the most of our common recreational games have come from England and other Old world countries. Recently another game has been brought to this gauntry from England, one that promises to be very popular. This game is called “snooker," and is played on a table resembling a billiard table, except that it is quite a lot larger. The Brunswick-Balke-Collender Comp; ny recently Installed two 6x12-foot "snooker” tables in the billiard room of the Denison Hotel, the first to make their appearance In this part of the country. Since their Installation, says J. Kaufman, manager of the company they been the centers of much Interest. It is believed that the game will become very popular In this country. Mr. Kaufmann reports an exceptionally brisk business in billiard tables during the holiday season, the majority of the tables going into private homes. There is a greater ten dency than ever toward making the home as much of a recreational center as possible, and to do this it Is necessary that Interesting play equipment be placed within the confines of the home. Most of the houses being built at the present time are planned with provisions made for a recreational or social room. COURT CLERK ENTERTAINS Newspaper Men Guests at Dinner Given by Zach Dung an.
