NEW AUDITOR TO ASK 11,866 FOR COUNTYEXPENSES Council Will Reappropriate Funds at Session Wednesday, Meeting- in special session Wednesday morning county council will be asked by Harry county audtior since Jan. 1. to expropriate $3(10,866.50 Jor expenses. Os this $280,283.75 vtffll be reappropriation, as that amount reverted to the general fund at the end of 1923. The largest item which (frill have to be reappropriated is $128,1(10 residue of $140,000 set aside last summer by the council for a colored orphan's home. New appropriations asked total SBO,283.75, including request for $60,000 additional asked by M. L. Jefferson, Center Township trustee. Jefferson was alloted $20,00 last fall. "Councilmen know it will take SBO,000 to assess Center Township,” Jefferson said. Prosecutor William H. Rem.v has requested $1,200 to pay his deputy, John Engleke. in juvenile court. Albert E. Schmoilinger, named by county commissioners, also is on the job. It, was said council wiU attempt to withdraw appropriation of Schmollinger's salary. Judge James M. Leathers has asked an additional SI,OOO for repairs and books in his courtroom. STATE CONDUCTS HEALTH CAMPAIGN Children Examined at Township Conferences. DAMAGE IN BROOM FIRE ONESTIMAIED Officials Say Loss Covered by Insurance, Efforts were being made today by officials of the Indianapolis Brush and Broom Manufacturing Company, 26 Brush St., to estimate loss caused by fire and water to raw materials in th building, damaged Monday when fire thought to have started in the air chamber of the furnace spread to the assorting rooms. Firemen had difficulty fighting the flames, as the lighting circuits burned out, but confined the fire to the assorting rooms. The Blackford County grand jury was in session today investigating the bombing of the Columbia Hotel at Montpelier last week for which fortyeight suspects are held. The men. all striking employes of the National Steel Casting Company and the Montpelier Manufacturing Company, are charged with conspiracy to commit felony. In instructing the grand jury yesterday Judge Simmons told them to make a thorough investigation of the explosion. *. COMPANY MAY BE SOLD National Mortgage and Discount Stockholders Hold Meeting. Business of the National Mortgage and Discount Company, whose licence to sell stock was recently suspended by the State securities commission, may be sold to another firm. At a stockholders meeting Monday a mittee to consider its sale was appointed. It is understood the company will ask the commission to reinstate the license. Atto L.
