Many renters are spending their winter evenings planning the new houses they expect to construct in the spring. It is well to consider carefully in order that one may derive the most satisfaction out of their expenditure. It Is unnecessary to pay too much attention to what kind of a house the “other fellow” is going to build, the real important question to consider being Just what kind of a house one's own family needs. The house pictured above is a very good example of the large home, the home that will accommodate a large family and friends. The model would work up equally well in brick veneer, stucco or frame. The architect has achieved a certain amount of dignity in the plans and yet the house is withall comfortable and homelike. CHOICE OF COLOR VERY IMPORTANT Appearance of House Made or Marred in the Painting, Every home owner wishes his house to boas attractive to the onlooker and passerby as possible. If the house has been constructed ofjwood, nothing that the owner may do will go so far toward improving the exterior appearance as paint. As Mr. C. E. Utley, manager of the Marion Pain* Company, says, "it is absolutely .surprising how much difference the right kind of painting makes. Color should be chosen carefully, bearing in mind the location, surroundings and shape and size of the house. After the main color has been chosen, equally great care must be taken in respect to the color fotrimming. It has been found that trim greatly accentuates the lines of the house so unless these are artistic and rightfully proportioned, it is much more advisable to dispense with the trim. “We sell direct to the consumer from our own factory and thus are able to save the consumer the middleman's profit. Our paints are of the highest grade, made of ingredients that are free from foreign properties. It never pays to buy cheap paint, for it not only makes a very unsatisfactory job from the standpoint of appearance, but it does not wear and in a very short while wili check, blister or deteriorate.”
