‘SPIRIT’ MARCHES . UNSEENON STAGE Audience Wonders as Dr, Hume Gives Demonstration. John Brown s body lies a-mouldering in the grave, bnt his soul went marching on, at the English theater Sunday night, and did stunts through his me dlum, the internationally known Dr. Alex Hume, while more than 1,000 people looked and wondered and laughed. . The “spirit" without, apparently, mechanical assistance, threw tambourines and dinner bells into the air, removed a coat from an assistant and placed it cm Dr. Hume, who solemnly declared he had not moved a hand, and carried a table around the stage while six man tried to push it to the floor. A piece of chalk, placed between two slates tied securely together by a man in the audience, wrote "My soul still goes marching on. John Brown.’’ Other demonstrations were given. TRUE MOTHER IS SOUGHT Disclosures of Nurse May Establish Anderson Woman's Parentage. .After thirty years of silence Mrs Margaret Emerson, 332 Spring St., formerly nurse In the old Hope Hospital, Ft. Wayne, has volunteered information which may lead to the discovery of the true mother of Airs. Felicia Eastman of Anderson. According to her story. Airs. Eastman was the daughter of a college girl and was born in March 1894. By an agreement between the mother. Mrs. Philip Landing, wife of a Ft. Wayne merchant, and college authorities. Felicia was left on the Lindlag doorstep. The fondling was adopted by Mr. and Alra. Lindlag. The mother never saw the child.

YOUTH, DRAGGED BY AUTO, BETTER Jesse Crisp Held as Result of Accident, Michael Boas, 19, of 1649 Roosevelt Ave., was in improved condition at the city hospital today, from injuries received when he was dragged forty feet under an auto driven by Jeese Crisp, 472A E. Twenty-First St., Sunday, in Massachusetts Ave., near Michigan St. Police said Crisp, driving ten or fifteen miles an hour, struck Boss when he apparently lost control and skidded across street car tracks. Boss suffered injuries to his side, stomach, leg and back. Crisp was slated on assault and battery charges. William Ray, 38, Mllroy. Ind., Is In the city hospital, suffering from outs about the head and bruises about the body, received Sunday when he was struck by an automobile at Oriental land E Washington Sts. Kenneth Griffith, 115 Good Ave., driver, was charged with assault and battery. FIRE RAZES FARM HOME Patient, Sick With Measles, Carried to Safety During Blaze. Bjj United Prett KOKOMO, Ind.. Jan. 7.—Claude! Zell, who was bedfast with the : measles, was carried to safety when fire destroyed the" farm home of his father, Thomas Zell, near her* early ; Sunday.
