BELL HOPS HELD FOR ‘BLACK HAND’ LETTERS Alleged Attempt Made to Extort SIOO,OOO From Chicago Hotel Man. Bv Unitrd Press CHICAGO, Dec. 21.—Three bell hops at a prominent downtown hotel were held today on charges of attempts to extort SIOO,OOO from John B Drake, millionaire hotel proprietor. The three, Nicohlaa Hanoloff, George GonefT and Joseph Robino. Bulgarians, were arrested following investigation of “black hand" letters addressed to Drake. G. A. R. POST TO SOUND Second Members of Chapman Unit Dies Within Ten Days. Another member of the George A. Chapman post of G. A. R., will be laid to rest Saturday afternoon at 2:80 when funeral services will be held for Ira Hlnehman. 81, of 243 X. Davison St., at the Tutewiler Funeral Home, 1549 X. Meridian. Mr. Hinchmsn’s death Thursday was the second to occur within the ranks of the Chapman post in the past ten days. Mr. Hinchman served in the Sixthteen Indiana Infantry. He was born in Rush County, Ind. He had lived here thirty-five years. He was a member of the Masons and a member of the Christian Church. Surviving: Four sons. Ernest, Omar, William and Ozv: one daughter, Mrs. William Fattig, all of Indianapo lis, and a brother Marshall Hinchman of Hot Springs, Ark. New Plan Board Men Have Civic Interests

The city plan commission after Jan. 1 will have the services of two men highjy interested in civic development after Jan. 1. They are Gustav G. Schmidt, moving picture theater owner, and John W. Atherton, financial secretary of Butler University. Schmidt was city council member of the commission when it was organized three years ago, leaving the post when his term as councilman expired. Atherton, through his connection with Butler, has been much interested in development of territory around Fairview Park, the new Butler site. HOW DO YOU SIT?
