LAST RUES HELD AT MON FOR GEORGE SHIDELER Hundreds Mourn Humanitarian Extolled as 'Man Without An Enemy,’ By Times Special MARION, Ind., Dec. 14.—*‘A man without a known enemy and who numbered his friends among all classes.” This tribute was paid George A. H. Shideler. late superintendent of the State Reformatory, funeral services for whom we gonducted by the Rev. Harry Nyce. | ;stor of the Presbyterian Church at Peru, Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church of this city, Mr. Shideler’s old home. In his sermon the Rev. Nyce extolled the life of Mr. Shideler and the work he had accomplished along uplift lines among unfortunates. Members of the Marion Commandery, Knights Templar, of which he was a member, met the body at the train and escorted it to the church. Members of the local lodge of Elks and Knights of Pythias, of which Mr. Shideler also was a member, were largely represented at the funeral. Hundreds of citizens viewed the body at the bier. Following brief services at the I. O. O. F. cemetery the body was placed in the J. Wood Wilson mausoleum for temporary interment. Burial will be made later.
