SOUTH DAKOTANS PICK M’ADOO AND COOLIDGEFORI924 Johnson Runs Far Behind in Vote, While Ford Shows Weakness. Bu United Press PIERRE, S. D., Dec. 5. —South Dakota today* leads the other States of the union in the selection of a list of candidates for the 1924 presidential elections. Here are majority slates adopted by the Republican, Democratic and farmer-labor parties of the State at their "proposal convention" here: Republican: For President. Calvin Coolidge; for Vice President, Senator Arthur Capper, Kansas; for United States Senator, Governor W. H. MeMaster of South Dakota. Democrats: For President, William G. McAdoo, son-in-law of Woodrow Wilson, and now of California; for Vice President, James W. Gerard, New York City. Farmer-Labor: For President. Senator Robert M. La Follette, Wisconsin, Vice President, Senator Frazier, North liaktta; for United States Senator, Tom Ayers, leader of the Farmer-La-bor moyement. The Republicans and Democrats also prepared minority tickets which will have Senator Hiram Johnson of California and Henry Ford of Detroit as their heads. Coolidge received approximately 50,000 votes compared with somewhat more than 27,000 for Johnson. Ford gets 5,192 votes. McAdoo was given 39,976 votes against 5,192 votes for Ford. The Farmer-Labor party gave La Follette 31.999 votes while Ford re ceived 7.346. Efforts to bring about a fusion of the Democrats and Farmer-Labor forces in behalf of Ford failed. Platforms were adopted by the three parties and the candidates are required by law to sign acceptance of their nominations and platforms in order that their names are submitted to the voters at the primaries. LADIES! LOOK YOUNG, DARKEN GRAY HAIR Gray hair, however handsome, denotes advancing age. We all know the advantages of a youthful appear- : ance. Tour hair is your charm. It makes or mars the face. When it fades, turns gray and looks streaked, just a few applications of Sage Tea and Sulphur enhances Its appearance a hundred fold. Don’t stay gray! Look young! Either prepare the recipe at home or get from any drug store a bottle of "Wyeth’s Sage and Sulphur Compound,” which is merely the old-time recipe improved by the addition of other ingredients. Thousands of folks recommend this ready-to-use preparation, because it darkens the hair beautifully, besides, no one can possibly tell, as it darkens so naturally and evenly. You moisten a sponge or soft brush with it, drawing this through the hair, taking one small strand at a time. By morning the gray hair disappears; after another application or two, its natural color is restored and it becomes thick, glossy and lustrous, and you appear years younger. —Advertisement.
