BURGLARS’ UNION TOILED OVERTIE ON SUNDAY NIGHT Police Make One Arrest in Crime Wave That Sweeps City. A sledge hammer, chisel, a crowbar and a battered off safe combination greeted A. Schiilinger, druggist, at 2764 Roosevelt Ave., when he returned to the store after a short absence at midnight Sunday. The yeggmen failed to break the safe but robbed a cash register of S4O and took a revolver. POLICE FOUND NO TRACE of the burglars who robbed the grocery of Edwin Wright, 530 W. Morris St., of women’s stockings, cigarettes, fifty pennies, a pie and a cake. ALTHOUGH POLICE RECEIVED DEFINITE description and information of two colored men, alleged to have stolen four auto tires at Muncie, and to have returned Friday, making boasts of a planned hold-up that nigh', POLICE HAVE MADE NO ARRESTS. Two colored men obtained a bank book and a J 45 watch from William Woodb'arn, 355 Douglass St„ at S2O N. Illinois St., that night. Homes and Groceries in IJst The home of Marion Scott, colored, 516 N. California St., was burglarized Sunday night. Loss was $63. No arrest has been made. POLICE HAVE NO CLEW to the /urglar who entered the home of William Murphy, colored, 414 N. Blackford St., and took sl. Lawrence Brown, 18, Paca St., is under arrest by police who say they caught him in an attempt to enter the-B. F. Simmons grocery store, 1130 N. West St He is charged with entering a house to commit a felony and burglary. Burglars removed a panel in the rear door of the grocery of A. B. Soltau, 2133 E. Michigan St., broke open a cash register and otbained S2O. Thirty-five dollars hidden in the store was also found. No arrest has been made. Slot Machine Opened A traveling bag, containing clothes valued at SIOO, was taken from a car owned by Oscar Kirchner, 1201 Park Ave. No arrest has been made. Burglars who broke into Beams Bowling Alleys, 15 W. Washington St., Saturday night, broke open slot machines and escaped with money of an unknown amount. A pay telephone, containing $6, belonging to David Heaton, 2130 E. Washington St., was taken while Heaton was out of the office after a bucket of coal. Although Dr. H. W. Hinkle, 1625 S. East St., caught and searched one man who, according to police, stole a vial containing morphine valued at SB, the man escaped when residents, asked to hold him, let him loose while Dr. Hinkle was chasing the second man. The police are now working on the case.

Lawrence, 17, who disappeared April 6, 1922. The powerful radio station, PWX, Havana, Cuba, has broadcast a description of the youth. The message was picked up here by S. C. Hamilton, 3228 Ruckle St. The youth is described as being six feet tall, weighing 160 pounds, and having black hair, dark eyes and dark complexion. MOTHER SEEKS SON, 30 Arthur Slaughter, Missing in City Since Nov. 23. Mrs. Joseph Kimbeil, 961 Colton St., has asked aid of police in a search for her son, Arthur Slaughter, 30, missing since Nov. 23. Police are also searching for John Whit fit, 45, who escaped Saturday from the Central Hospital for Insane. Aged Man Killed by Auto r By Times Special SHERIDAN, Ind., Dec. 3. —Robert W.
