LIFE SAVING CHAPTER FOR MEN IS INSTALLED Red Cross Official Leads Plans to Train Beach Guards. Preliminary preparations for saving lives of swimmers next summer were made at the Hoosier Athletic Club Thursday night. Capt. William G. Kiev, associate director of the National Red Cross Life Saving Corps, explained the initial steps in formation of at chapter of an Indianapolis Red Cross Life Saving Corps for Men. Approximately twenty-five life guards from Indianapolis swimming beaches will become members. Several prominent business men are supporting the movement. Throughout the winter the guards will be given training recommended by the National Red Cross Corns anl the Amateur Athletic Union, with which the- newly founded chapter will cooperate. Free lessons In swimming arranged by Edward Mcßride, city recreation commissioner and supervised by W. E. Llebold, will be given at the Twenty-Sixth St. swimming pool next summer. RITES SATURDAY FOR CORNELIUS H. VORIS Pioneer Franklin Business Man Dies at Home Following Illness. By Times Special _ FRANKLIN, Ind., Nov. 16—Funeral services for Cornelius Harvey Voris, pioneer Franklin business man. who died at liis home here Thursday after an illness of two months will be held Saturday at 10 a. m. For more than fifty years he has been actively associated with the business life of Franklin. The widow and three children survive. The children are W. R. Voris and Mrs. W. O. Curtis of this city and Mrs. Russel Duncan of Indianapolis. One brother, George W. Shideler, superintendent of the Indiana State Reformatory, Pendleton, has sent local police pictures and bertillion measurements of two prisoners who escaped from there Nov. 4.
