Wednesday, brought the case to a climax by smothering his wife with kisses in the court room and crying he would take her back. Thomas Wells, several years younger than Mrs. Mathis, and himself a husband and father, was the third party, according to police. Judge John W. Donaker, Bartholomew County Circuit Court, told Mathis he was doing a great deed, one few men would do. The couple eloped Saturday, Mathis first learning of the flight when he found his two children, 2 and 5 years old, wandering the streets in the rain crying “Mother.” Installation of long distance telephone service throughout Mexico is the purpose of a company recently formed in the City of Mexico.

Irvington Furnishes Fitting Background for Uniquely American “Home Beautiful” of Judge and Mrs. Bash

“Classic Irvington’’—how many times we hear that phrase, yet what a warranted significance it has —a place of charming homes, within which are to be found fine, cordial folk. Certainly this atmosphere lends much to the home of Judge and Mrs. M. E. Bash, 321 Pleasant Run Blvd. Ideally situated on a little knoll, the house Is so placed as to be apart from other houses in the neighborhood; the grounds are quite large, gently sloping down to Pleasant Run Blvd., Lowell Ave., and Hawthorne Lane. Home Overlooks Brook The west facade overlooks winding Pleasant Run. Dignified hospitality is reflected in the sturdy, solid wood door with sidelights. The windows are formed of an extra large window with narrow windows on each side. A brick design, Inset with stone medallion, marks the contour of the window.
WILLIAMS BURNER BECOMES POPULAR IN MODERN HOMES Plants Are Being Installed in Many Newly-Built Residences, Rapid progress Is being marked In the perfection of oil burners as a means of heating residences. As “House Beautiful” aptly put It in an article this month, “To escape the coal shovel and the ash sifter, the dust, soot and smoke, to retire at night with the knowledge that a cranky flrepot can not grow cold and drag one down cellar- before daylight to coax anew Are into existence, and in these days, particularly, to be free from worry about each new coal strike, means to face the winter with equanimity. The installation of an automatic oil heating system assurer these comforts.” The very great advantages of the Williams Otl-O-Matic Burner, carried by the W. D. Long Company, 144 E. Ohio St., are found in the fact that It bums a very low grade of oil. In fact, It. bums any and all kinds with equally good results and produces a all times an absolutely uniform heat The thermostatic control permit one to regulate the degree of beat do sired. When the temperature fall: below the point desired, the regulate, starts the heating system which con unites until the temperature hsu again reached the proper level. The

Reiner to Be Greeted by Largest Audience
* BY WALTER D. HICKMAN The largest audience ever assembled for an orchestral concert in this city will greet Fritz Reiner, Willy Burmester, violin soloist, and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra on Monday night, Ona B. Talbot stated today. Not only is Indianapolis responding to orchestral music, but large par* ties are coming from Indiana cities, Terre Haute, South Bend, Knightstown, Crawfordsville and other places. This will be the first of three con-

Small dumpings of evergreens are banked against the house, while the 1 uff brick used In construction forms an effective contrast. One very strong characteristic of the house, which is of a square plan, is its absolute American appearance; from no foreign country has the architect borrowed plan, material or details of finish. It is a fine example of the combination of artistic and utilitarian achievement accomplished by American designers at their beaL Richness of Furnishings Elegant dignity marks the center hallway, accomplished largely through lavish use of colorful, silken Oriental ruga, and in the treads of the stairclock can be set for any desired time In the early morning and the heat can be turned on so that the house will be warm. "Our burners,” said Mr. Long, “are becoming more and more widely used and without exception have proved to be absolutely satisfactory. They can be installed in any kind of a heating plant. The amount of gas used in the ignition of our burners Is very small, in fact. It Is so small as to be almost negligible. “We are Installing oil burners In the most expensive and modem houses being built In the city and In many they are to be the only provision made for heat, as no quarters are planned for coal or other fuel.” The South Sea Islands have the smallest cows in the world.

certs to be given by the orchestra this season under the direction of Mrs. Talbot. Willy Burmester, violinist, will be the soloist Monday night. Asa special added feature a style show will be tied in with the act by the Brosnan Company, who will exhibit the latest in frocks and coats on four Indianapolis modeils. M. Alphonse Berg, the owner and producer of “Creations,” says that he can drape an evening gown on a model within one minute, and pin the dress in such a way that it is suitable for street wear or for an entire evening at a social function. He uses nothing but a handful of pins and one bolt of material, with such instruments as scissors to be completely forgotten. Other acts on the bill are "The Bachelor’s Vision,” presented by Sampson and Marlon. The yare a
