FLANNERHEADOF I. A. OPUBLIQITY Dedication Committee for New Home Is Appointed, Frank B. Flanner, president of the Indianapolis Ad Club, will head a committee appointed today to assist in publicity and arrangements for the dedication meeting of the new Indianapolis Athletic Club home. Appointment of the committee followed a conference of several advertising men of the city at the Hotel Lincoln. Assisting Flanner will be J. T. MpDermott. J. L. Clough, Irving W. Ridge, Mervin Hammell, V. Ernest Field. G. Van Riper. F. B. Bull. McFarland Benham and Wallace O. Lee. chairman of the club publicity committee. Construction work on the club building is nearing completion and the decorators will complete their work soon, preparatory to the installation of furniture, club officials announced. It is expected all contractors will have vacated the building in two weeks. ELECTRIC RATES CUT IN CALUMET DISTRICT Consumers Saved SI 10.(KM) a Year By Commission Ruling I Electric consumers will be saved approximately SIIO,OOO annually by a reuction of rates in the Calumet district in northwestern Indiana. Oscar Ratts. member of the public service commission, said today in explaining an order affecting the Northern Indiana Gas and Electric company, effective Dec. 1. Adoption of anew plan of rate scheduling, known as the Boston plan, whereby industrial consumers are charged an increased base rate and domestic consumers receive a reduced rate, is the means by which the reduction was effected, ltatts said. Hammond. Whiting and East Chicago will benefit by the order. The same plan of apportioning utility rates is being considered with reference to local plants, it is understood. G. 0. P. Butler Pep Meeting Wednesday A “pep meeting’’ preparatory to the game with De Pauw Saturday will be held at the Chamber of Commerce at 7 p. m. Wednesday under the auspices of the Butler Men s Club. ‘Cully’’ Thomas, former Butler coach, and Robert R. Batten, Butler football star of former years, will speak. Members of the varsity squad and of the freshman team will be guesls.
I.U.T. Running Special Trains To Ft. Wayne Saturday, Nov. 10th, to Be Gala Day in Hoosier Town The Union Traction Company of Indiana has made special preparations to conveniently handle the Large number of people planning to attend the State wide meeting to be held at Ft. Wayne, and on Saturday of this week, regular and special trains will leave ine Terminal Station each hour during the day. Arrangements have been made to run all special cars direct to the grounds.
