The jury fixed the sentence at two years in the penitentiary and the two were taken to Jail, pending appeal.

EWE BOARD FAVORSBIG LOAN State Officials Wish to Borrow $500,000. The State board of finance today voted to borrow $600,000 with which to pay off that amougt of a $1,250,000 general fund debt to the State highway commission, and which the highway body desires immediately to continue its road construction program. State Auditor Robert Bracken was to negotiate a $600,000 lo&n with the National City Bank of New York. The loan, if completed, will be at a 5 per cent, rate. This loan will increase the general fund's indebtedness to $3,900,000. John D. Williams, director of the highway commission, told Bracken Wednesday the commission was In immediate need of the funds to pay contractors on State road work. Councilman's Son Hurt Heydon Buchanan, Jr., son of Councilman Buchanan, 1634 W. Morris St;., was slightly scratched Thursday when a dog belonging to Thomas Murray, 1137 Reisner St., jumped upon his back, according to police. Murray promised to get rid of the dog, police said.
