The house was built about fifteen years ago and composed of large
BILLIARD TABLES ARE NOW ENJOYED BY WHOLE FAMILY Churches, Clubs and Schools Promote Inside Recreation for Members, These are the clays of Indoor sports | and the games are played in the : home and recreation in the home is j thought of more and more each day. I It is strange with the thousands of automobiles in use, more people are enjoying the outdoors and at the same i time spending more time at home and more thought to amusament in the home. "We may be speeding up and crami ing more hours in our days,” said i Mr. Joseph Kauflman, of the Bruna- | v.'ick Balke Collender Company, "but I the remarkable Increase in the Bale of our billiard tables is suprising proof that people are seeking more and more amusement. Just a few I years ago a billiard table In the home was rare, while today it is common and a large number of the homes being built have provisions made for billiards. There has beenu a remarkable evolution in all lines of sport. It has not been so many years since one heard the expression that fishing was a lazy man’s Job, or the hunter was loafing, extravagant or neglecting his family. Even the man brave enough t.o carry a golf bag or tennis racket down the street was thought queer. Those days have passed and it Is safe to say that every man, woman and child alive Is busy seeking sport and recreation of some kind." Hundreds of churches, schools and clubs throughout the State are Installing billiard tables and we have just completed many new Jobs. We have at present many orders for tables sos Christmas delivery for homaa In Indianapolis and are showing a full line of styles and sizes for the holidays. Our line is well known and we have many interesting gift suggestions in billiard and bowling equipment. Revolver Stolen at Home Nora Anderson, 616 N. rooms and spacious hallways. The front, entrance hall was left Intact to provide an entrance tor the upper duThe house presents an attractive appearance. In general It Is rather square, full two stories with unutualplex. The duplex was made with only one addition to make possible an extra room on each floor. Very Attractive Exterior ly wide projecting eaves, painted ivory and affording a very pleasant contrast to the lemon yellow that 1* used on the house. Across the front there is a very deep porch with an upper deck which furnishes a pleasant living porch of ample proportions for occupants of the upper floor. The railing that extends around the upper deck gives an air of privacy to the porch. Shrubbery beautifies the front lawn and the depth at the rear makes possible a nice flower garden. Miss Henley and her mother occupy the lower floor. French doors on the right of the porch lead into their living room, which is very comfortable In slse as are all the rooms on both floors. The living room Is attractively furnished, tones of blue predominating in the furnishings. A delft blue velour rug, with border of darker blue.
HOMEBUILDERS DEMANDCABINETS Need of Craftsmen Emphasized by Their Shortage, Cabinet work Is becoming an important factor In every big lumber company and mill. The growth has been rapid and mills have had difficulty In obtaining skilled workman in a good many cases, as it has not been so many years since cabinet making was a vanishing occupation and cabinet makers were not In demand. But in the last few years the demand for built-in features for the home, both from the standpoint of Convenience and beauty has again brought cabinet making Into its own. Every home has its built-in features from living room to kitchen, including attrtntlve window arrangements, book cai.es, china and linen closets, kitchen cabinets, artistic stairways, mantles, and many other things. This was primarily due to the effort to conserve space, but It ljas developed Into a necessity for comfort and beauty. Remarkable effects are obt, alned and new designs are created in nearly every home. The cabinet department at the mill of the Brookside Lumber Company, is one of the most important and Interesting parts of the plant. Prospective home builders and especially women have well formed ideas concerning what they want and the company is able to work out their Ideas for them. Schools Asked to Observe Week School officials throughout the State have been urged by Benjamin •J. Burris, State superintendent of public Instruction, to cooperate in the observance of American Education Week, Nov. 18 to 24. Burris said the American Legion and numerous civic organizations would participate In the observances. Burris has asked all schools In the State, sometime next week, to celebrate the birthday of Theodore Roosevelt, Oct. -27.

covers the floor, and this same color is repeated in the lamp shade and in the silk rainbow colored sunfast that curtains the windows. There is an open fireplace in the room that adds to Its comfort and cheer. Dining-Room In Walnut From the living room one goes directly into the dining-room furnished in Inlaid walnut. The bay wiudow on the south admits an abundance of light and sunshine and adds much to the beauty of the room. Just bark of this room is a bedroom, also furnished In walnut. Yellow used in the drapes and dreeaer appointments of this dainty room seem to catch and hold the sunshine. From the dining-room another door leads Into a small hall or,to which opens the kitchenette, bath and the other bedroom. This hall, bath and bedroom were made from the kitchen of the original house, but In no way do they seem too small. Tho bathroom Is fully equipped with full-sizo fixtures and provides all the room that Is needed, and this also is true of the bedroom. The kitchen was made from the orlg-

FREE INSPECTION OF FURNACES IS GIVENBYRYBOLT Opportune Time for Repairing Is Declared to Be at Hand, Fumaoee are like everything else, in that they are In need of constant attention, but most (people banish them from their mind when they are not In use. The wise furnace user has his furnace looked over and necessary repairs made when the fire goes out for the season. This is the proper system, as It la possible to get parts and service more easily than at any other time. This season, Just before the days when a little fire In the furnace Is needed, is also a good time to have repairs attended to, as most of the new work Is completed and the building season Is nearing an end. "We are able to furnish parts and repairs for any make of furnace at this time,” said Harry Rybolt of the Rybolt Furnace Company, “and as it is only a step to the cold days when furnaces will be started on the tremendous task of keeping the house and family comfortable, we urge every one to have their furnaces Inspected and repairs made immediately. “The fire hazard is greatly increased by the fact that fires are built in defective furnaces and a large percentage of the increased number of fires during the days when heat is needed could be prevented If furnaces were inspected and necessary repairs mads. We have a free inspection service available to every one, whether they ere using a Rybolt furnace or not, enabling them to obtain assurance as to the condition of their furnaces without cost." I. 0.
