TRAFFIC PERIL IN EARLYFALL DUSK Hoosier Motor Club Urges Enforcement of Light Ordinance, Urging enforcement of city traffic ordinance requiring lights at night on horse-drawn vehicles and bicycles, the safety department of the Hoosier Mosaid today: “The haze and dusk of the homegoing hours blending Into the early nightfall at this time of the year make the visibility very poor. Dark-colored wagons,'drawn by horses, and riders of bicycles, are not easily seen. In the event of accidents, the driver of a horse-drawn vehicle or the propeller of a bicycle, doubtless would have to assume a considerable element of contributory negligence because of the violation of the city law requiring lights to be on such vehicles during the period of from one-half hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise." The motor club calls on all drivers to proceed cautiously at street corners, especially because pedestrians also have a “low visibility" during the early hours of dusk and eventide. “It really seems darker between 5:30 and 6:30 than It does later in the night,” the club asserts.
