OKLAHOMA SOLONS REFUSE WALTON’S OFFERTDRESIGN Governor Offers to Quit if Legislature Will Pass Anti-Klan Law, ' B*r United Press OKLAHOMA CITT, Okla., Oct. 10. —The Oklahoma Legislature meeting at 8 a. m. tomorrow will refuse to accept the offer of Governor J. C. Walton to resign provided anti-Ku Klux Klan laws are immediately enacted. leading legislators declared today. A copy of the Governor's peace offer was placed in the hands of W. D. Mcßee, unofficial leader of the lawmakers, who scorned the suggestion. Mqßee at once issue! this official statement from the legislative headquarters In the Skirvin Hotel: “A quorum of legislators is not present now, consequently the Governor's offer could not be considered by us only as individuals. The ljist time a quorum was present we were dispersed at the point of a bayonet.” He made no other comment. Other solans at headquarters remained silent. In their outward attitude, however, there was visible the determination to proceed immediately with their work of impeaching the chief executive upon convening Thursday. The Governor’s proclamation came after a day of conferences with politicians. friends and a long session with Aldrich Blake, his personal advisor and who gave out the offer made by Walton to resign. 200 DELEGATES ATTEND 23D D. PLYMOUTH ATTORNEY ON INDUSTRIAL BOARD McCray Appoints Humriehouser to Fill Vacancy. Henry L. Humriehouser of Plymouth, former member of the State Legislature, has been appointed to the State Industrial board by Governor McCray to succeed Samuel R. Artman, former chairman, who was placed on the public service commission. Thomas Roberts, ranking industrial board member, became chairman. Humriehouser is an attorney. Miss Mabel Gray of Crown Point, who was appointed secretary of the board to succeed Leland K. Fishback has reported for duty. COACH 200 Naval Men With Fifty-Piece Band to Join Parade to Game. Naval tribute will be paid "Roarin’ Bill” Ingram, .-Indiana University football coach, when he makes his debut into Big Ten football with the Northwestern game Saturday. A parade of more than 200 uniformed men, led by the fifty-piece band, will also witness the game at Washington Park. A Greater Northwestern Association of Indiana will be organized by more than 500 Northwestern grads meeting at the Severin.
