NEW DOWNTOWN May Be Routed Off of Three Important Streets, Street care would be routed over a downtown loop Including Ohio, Delaware, Maryland Sts. and Capitol Ave. and taken off of Washington, Pennsylvania and Illinois Sts., according to plans under consideration of city councilmen today. The step has long been considered to relieve downtown traffic conges- - lion. The city plan commission has been investigating along similar linesCouncilmen today doubted whether any ordinance could be drafted by council meeting Monday night. A special committee will likely consider it. Another revision in the traffic ordinance under consideration would provide that motorists desiring to turn right at downtown corners do so while cross current of traffic has the right of way instead of moving with the current traffic. This would be a safeguard to the pedestrian, it was said.
