Mrs. Leathers also announced a President’s day luncheon for Oet. 2. 300TH FESTIVAL TO BENEFIT HOSPITAL Methodists to Turn Proceeds of Party over to Institution. Epworth League day will be observed Saturday at Garfield Park for the benefit of the Methodist Hospital. It will be known as the Booth Festival, given under direction of the Indianapolis District of the Epworth League. Field events will be held near the pavilion beginning at 2:30 p. m. A baseball game between the Indianapolis Institute Stars and the Chapter team will be played at 3:30 p. m. There wdll be a singing fest at 5 p. m. and thirty minutes later a banquet will be served. Tags will be sold on the grounds and booths operated, the proceeds going to the hospital fund. FREIGHT INCREASES FOR CENTRAL STATES Western Per Cent Drops in Competition With Panama Canal Freight tonnage or rafilways in the Indiana, Ohio and Alleghany regions has increased 15.2 per cent for the first six months of 1923 compared with the tonnage for the same period, 1920, it was announced today by The Railway Age.
