THEY ARE MAKING ’EMDIFFERENT THESE DAYS
By WALTER D. HICKMAN. Girls, manners, music and dance change from year to year. That is proven this week at the Palace by Harry Slatko and company. He first shows how the old hoop-skirt girl acted when she consented to go to a dance with her gentleman friend if she was escorted home by 9 p. m. Then Slatko shows the "girl of today’’ who gets hungry at midnight following a dance. The comparisons are made in the spirit of fun. Comparisons are also made in music and dance. A modern jazz band closes.the act and brings the comparisons to a close. Dawson. Lanigan and Covert offer some good soft shoe dancing. Thorntor Flynn and Dena Caryl offer a musical act which is not new to vaudeville both in idea and treatment. The man has a good voice. Arthur Angel and Violet Fuller go in for eccentric nonsense and close with a burlesque on a Bowery dance. Good for some laughs. Fuller appears In an old make-up. Stanley Gallini and company open the bill. The movie feature is Jack Pickford in "Garrison's Finish." This new bill is not well balanced, runs too much to music. At the Palace today, Saturday and Sunday. -I- -I- •!- Other attractions on view today include: Julia Curtis, at the Lyric, “The Unwanted Child.” at the Murat; “Runnin’ Wild,” at the Capitol; tab loid burlesque, at the Broadway; “The Village Blacksmith.” at the Rialto; “A Man’s Man,” with J. Warren Kerri
