COMMERCIAL FIRM BUYS WILD HOME FOR NEW OFFICES Credit, Audit and Correct Weights Bureau to Move Oct. 1. The purchase of the J. F. Wild residence, 1639 N. Meridian St., by the Commercial Credit, Audit and Correct Weights Bureau, for use as headquarters, was announced today by Frank G. Laird, manager. The consideration was not made public. The building is a three-story brick and frame house, with ten rooms. The new owners will take possession Oct. 1. Present location of the bureau is the Merchants Bank Building. Officers of the bureau are John A. George, president; A. E. Eradshaw, vice president; Ray Macy, treasurer; Fred D. Stilz, secretary, and Frank G. Laird, manager. A realty company is being formed within the membership of the bureau to take over handling of all real estate holdings of the organization. Negotiations resulting in purchase of the property were handled by Waiter Ulrich of the Emerson W. Chaille Company. RED CROSS TO ORGANIZE Fortune Heads Movement to Bind Central Indiana Cliapters. William Fortune was selected as chairman for a permanent organization of central Indiana Red Cross chapters at a regional conference here in the Claypool. Talks were made on peace-time activities in caring for disabled veterans, the water-safety campaign and the Junior Red Cross. South St, Nick Budacb, 37, of 1202 Nordyke Ave, and John Popa, 35, proprietor of a poolroom at 516 W. Maryland St, are held on alleged charges of operating blind tigers. Roscoe dark Addresses dub Roscoe C. Clark of the Emerson B. Knight Advertising Agency spoke today at the luncheon of the Advertising Club of Indianapolis, held at the Chamber of Commerce. Clark was formerly an Instructor in advertising at the T. M. C. A. night school for the past two years. Car Hits Aged Man Christopher Meyer 72, of 2239 N. Illinois St, suffered a severe gash in his head today when he was struck by a north bound Illinois car in front of his home as he was crossing the street. The attending physician said there might be internal injuries.

Grosvenor Dawe, of the Wheat Council of the United States, and H. C. Balsinger, of the National Association of Retail Grocers, also spoke. The keynote of the discussions was “Make Toast Yot r Breakfast Food’’ the slogan of this year’s convention. Women who have been attending were the guests of honor at a special luncheon Wednesday. E. V. McCollum of John Hopkins University will address the annual convention dinner tonight. LOCAL OFFICER MOVED By Times Special WASHINGTON, Sept. 13.—Major David H. Edwards, assistant professor of military science and tactics for the Indianapolis high schools, was ordered today by the War Deptrement to the Howe Military' School. He will become professor of military science and tactics at the military school. Major Edwards will leave Indianapolis as soon as his successor arrives.

FRIERMOOD VOICE SCHOOL IN HOME Term Is Opened in Newer Quarters. The Friermood School of Singing and Dramatic Art has opened its fall season this week in a newer and larger home, situated at the northwest corner of Delaware and Fourteenth Sts. The home was formerly a large private residence and is well suited to the needs of the school, with large rooms, sound proof walls, large ball room and spacious grounds,- Glenn Friermood is director. The school offers a complete education in all branches of singing. Teachers: Mrs. Glenn Friermood, Mrs. E. C. Johnson, Mrs. J. H. Lowry, Fred Jeffry and Esther Thornton. Dramatic art will be taught by Mrs. Ruth Todd. Mrs. Martha Gruselle Martin will teach French and Mrs. Lorelle Krull will instruct in sight singing. STATE COAL STRIKE SEEN BY OPERATOR Engineers Form Committee to Study Situation in Indiana Rumblings of next sprite's biennial coal strike by Indiana miners were heard in the Lincoln Wednesday night when the American Society ot Mchanical Engineers appointed a committee of five to study the problem and submit a solution of the matter at the October meeting. Carl Fletcher of the Knox County Coal Company predicted the strike. Miners will demand higher wages, he said, at the expiration of the present contract. The committeemen: Ira J.
