KEEPITORNIOVE IT? BOARD SPLITS IN NUTRITION WAR Stormy Sea Prevents Peace and Members Decide on New Quiz*, Efforts to transfer supervision of nutrition work in schools to the city board of health were at a standstill today. After heated debate that started when a delegation representing Indianapolis women’s organizations protested against the change, members of the school board Tuesday night referred the matter tc the instruction committee for additional investigation. Mrs. J. T. McWhirter and Mrs. John W. Moore of the Women’s Department Club said a debt of $67,000 of the city health board would make it Impossible for that body to take over the work efficiently. William D. Allison and Charles Barry opposed the transfer of work, while Dr. Marie Haslep and Adolph Emhardt favored it. Bert S. Gadd In explaining that he was not familiar with questions Involved, asked for extension of time. A motion to that effect carried when he voted favorably with Dr. Haslep and Emhardt. A motion by Emhardt, urging the transfer, failed to obtain a second. E. U. Graff, superintendent of school&r announced the following appointments: Elementary Schools—Lela E. Randall. Mary H. Hall. JSafctv for Emergencies^ f jS| - Buick f 7our~whed Brakes Buick four-wheel brakesineet the demands of present day traffic conditions by having power in reserve to insure a rapid, safe and reliable “stop*\ Actual braking effectiveness is practically doubled by Buick four-wheel brakes. This is accomplished by slowing down the two front wheels. Each brake band has a threequarter wrap or grip on its brake drum, rather than the half-way wrap in common practice. The Buick four-wheel brakes are an integral part of the Buick front axle design. Their arrangement and operation are simple. The front brakes are coupled in relation to the rear ao that when the brake pedal is operated more pressure is put on the rear brakes than on the front. Buick four-wheel brakes [on all models] are one of many definite advances in motor ear operation and maintenance that the 1924 Buicks have contributed to automobile transportation. .
