Rial, 22, of Beaumont and Miss Bessie Carl. 16, a Houston high school girl, on a lonely roadside near here, the mystery of their disappearance since Saturday night has been solved. Feeling is at fever heat and a lynching in feared iij any suspect is arrested. The girl’s head had been crushed and the boy shot. His body was badly mutilated. Placed side-by-side, half a mile from the main road on a forest trail, the bodies were found by the girl’s brother-in-law who had been searching since they left Port Arthur for an automobile ride. Posses Are Formed Beaumont. Port Arthur and the countryside in this section have formed posses who are scouring the country for traces of the murderer. The car which Rial and Miss Carl had been driving was found three miles from Beaumont Sunday. After the finding of the bodies a coroner’s investigation showed a bitter struggle had taken place near where the abandoned automobile was found. Pieces of clothing were on the ground and Rial’s knife was found in the car. Police said the bodies had been carried come distance after the couple had been murdered. Miss Carl had been the victim of an assault, police said. Her diamond ring was found near the car. Girl Believed Captive Mystery was added w'hen authorities stated that the wooded trail on which the bodies had been found had been searched prior to their discovery. This led to the theory that after the man was killed the girl was held captive for a time by the murderers. Police believe she was killed later and both bodies taken into the woods.
