ALL PREPARATIONS MADE FOR STAIE LEGION_MEETING Program for Convention to Be Held in Michigan Jty Is Completed, Bv Tlrn't Special MICHIGAN CITY. Ind., Sept. 6. The program for the State convention of the American Legion to be held in Michigan City, Sept. 10, 11 and 12 is complete. Decorators are now busy transforming Franklin St., the lake front, the hotels and prominent places into grandeur by the use of the American colors and the flags of the allies. Final arrangements are being made by the posts over the State for the trip to Michigan City, which coming at the close of the season of this summer resort season will partake more of the nature of a summer holiday than formerly when conventions were held in inland cities. Ewing, a driver for the Frank Bird Taxi Company, told officers the man owed him taxi fare of $19.45. When Ewing stopped in front of 448 W. Washington St. to allow Paxton to purchaso some cigarettes, the man ran up a stairs, down another into the crowded streets and escaped. A hotel key bearing room No. 661 was left in the taxi.
