FRIENDS ASK U. S. TO ENTER WORLD COURT Deplore Renewed Activity in Favor of Militarism in This Country, Su Times Soeeia l RICHMOND, Ind., Aug. 31—A renewed activity in favor of militarism In this country was deplored by the Indiana Yearly Meeting of Friends at their one hundred and third an nual conference here. The session Thursday was devoted mainly to a consideration of the fiftyfourth annual report of the Peace Association of Friends in America and the report of the yearly meetings peace committee. Members of the Society cf Friends were urged to support a movement to make the United States a member of the international court of justice in the report of the Peace Association, •which Dr. Allen D. Hole of Earlhani College, Its president, presented. Hearty support of President CooIdige to the entrance of the United States in the international court as advocated by the late President Harding, was asked in a communication Which was sent to the chief executive. The report went on to say that officials of the army and navy exservice men, and citizens who favor bigger Navy and Army departments are educating the people to the belief that patriotic service must mean far greater prepardness than is now authorized by Congress. The peace committee of the Yearly Meetings reported the distribution of 2.020 copies of peace literature last year. Fruit Tree Fraud Charged Charged with violating the postal laws, James Frank Parrott, Vin cennes, is awaiting Federal grand jury action. After a preliminary hearing Thursday, Parrott was bound over by United States Commissioner Clyde Randall at Terre Haute. Parrott is said to have used the mails to defraud it connection with a fruit tree company at Vincennes. He is in the Marion County jail, unable to provide SI,OOO bond. Whisky Removal Restrained Removal of 785 barrels of whisky, held at Hammond, Ind., has been restrained temporarily by court order granting petition of the Novak Milling Company of Hammond, that Government action be delayed pending the settlement of their $7,000 account against the liquor owners.
