OPINION FAVORING AIR DISARMAMENT MOVE BY VETERANS Replies From 225 Out of 252 Requests Flatly Agree to Proposal. Answers received at American Legion national headquarters here to a request for opinions in regard to the convocation of an international air disarmament conference are proponderantly favorable to the project, It was announced at legion headquarters today. From a total of 252 replies received from United States senators, congTessment, governors, auditors, college presidents and other private citizens, 225 have voted for the conference, fourteen were against it; nine were undecided and four expressed qualified approval, the legion announced. Twelve senators and fortyseven members of Congress have indorsed the move. Among those who * believe in the practicability o fthe proposed cflnference is Newton D. Baker, former secretary of waar. He has written: Every Limitation Good. “Every limitation of armament is good. Every conference about the limiitation of armament is good. The limitation of air armaments is the most important and vital possible limitation. I therefore strongly favor an international conference to limit military air armaments. “I do not believe that a limitation of air armaments can be secured without some form of international protection to the security of certain nations which for the past hundred years have found their only protection to lie in their military power to protect themselves, and because of their inferior man-power have been obliged to rely upon their superior in-
