A cut in the general fund of from 2 to 5 cents was proposed at a similar meeting Thursday night. Another cut in the recreation fund was considered. Councilmen are determined to keep the 1924 levy- below the proposed $1.02 figure. Mayor Shank and city officials have urged citizens to support this levy, declaring It represents a “rock bottom’’ figure for city operation. Administration officials and department heads, including the boards of safety and public works, will meet with councilmen Thursday night in the council chamber in city hall for final consideration and recommendations. Councilmen will hear protests of officials against further cuts, but today would not predict what cuts or changes woild ba~made. Councilman Ben Thompson is chairman of the finance committee.
