Life of Calvin Coolidge Shown in “Our President” Movie at Lyric
"Our President,” a special reel of Emotion pictures of Calvin Coolidge, "will be shown in Indianapolis as an extra added attraction at both the Lyric and Apollo Theaters next week. They are the first pictures of the new chief executive to be released since he assumed his high office. The pictures include various episodes in Mr. Coolidge’s career as Governor of Massachusetts, when he fir;t attracted Nation-wide attention by his firm methods of dealing with the police strike in Boston, and as Vice President of the United States. Mr. Coolidge has always been gracious and courteous in posing for camera-men, with the result that some exceptionally good "close-ups” and Intimate views of the new President in action have been obtained The pictures have been assembled by the Fox Film Corporation, which has charge of their distribution. -!■ -1- T Memories of Old Minstrel Days Recalled at Palace Before George Primrose died he was one of the best-known minstrel men before the American public. His widow, Mrs. George Primrose, is now on the vaudeville circuit with an act called "Primrose Minstrels.” Mrs. Primrose recites a poem to music regarding the good old days in which she states that she wished the old minstrel days of years ago would come back. Minstrels are not as popular as in the old days, probably because the real minstrel talent is rapidly passing away. The best number in this act is a shoft-shoe dance done by two men of the company. I The act needs more speed and action. The old songs go the best, as "Rocked in the Cradle of the Deep.” To my way of thinking, the best

act on the new Palace bill Is Count Perrone, a baritone, and Miss Trix Oliver, soprano and pianist. This act is dressed in smart taste. Miss Oliver is beautifully attired in an evening TIRED, NERVOUS MOTHERS are the direct cause of much unhappiness in our homes; their condition Irritates and wears upon the husband and often ruins a child’s disposition. This condition of the mother is often due to some weakness which makes her entirely unfit to perform her household duties and bear the strain upon her nerves that governing children involves Every woman who finds herself in this condition should remember that statistics prove that 98 out of every 100 women who suffer from female ills are helped by Lydia E. gown. The song hit of this act is "The World Is Waiting for the Sunrise.” The entire routine is selected in fine taste, Jean Sothern, remembered for her work on the screen, is appearing In a number of male impressions. She first apears as herself and she then becomes a sailor, a rube feller and a Broadway swell. Just why she sings a song bemoaning the fact that beer is no longer sold over the bar is hard to determine. Any songs of this nature are in bad taste on the vaudeville stage and the sooner performers wake
