CORONER STARTS INVESTIGATION OF FATALACCIDENT Mrs. Helena Harper 'Dies — Driver Released on Own Recognizance. Investigation was started today by Coroner Paul Robinson into an accident which resulted in the death of Mrs. Helena K. Harper, 73, William Penn Apts./ late Thursday. Pennsylvania St., driver of the automobile, was charged with manslaughter, but was released on his own recognizance by the coroner. It is said that Walters stopped his car as he saw the two women crossing the street and that they stepped In front of the car as he started it again. Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Harper have not been completed. Carl F. Adams, 29, colored, 2609 Rader St., was under arrest today, •and with driving on the left side of the street, and improper driving, following an accident at Capitol Ave. and Twenty-Sixth St., late Thursday. An automobile driven by Adams struck a car driven by Amsey Zaring, 3354 Guilford Ave. Both au.omobiles were slightly damaged. Mrs. Augusta Bonse, 78, of 226 W. Kansas St., received minor injuries Thursday night when she was struck by a machine driven by Earl Stickman, 15 Schiller St., at Morris and Church Sts. She was taken home. COUNTY JAIL ‘TOO FULL Board of Charities Reports Cells Crowded and Damp. The Marion County jail Is too full, both the men’s and women’s departments housing 50 per cent more than capacity, the board of charities and corrections has reported to county commissioners. "The cells In the women’s department are crowded, gloomy and damp," It was said, due to the fact that curtains are drawn to prevent communication with men prisoners. Suggestions were made that the windows be frosted. The jail proper, where men are kept, is “very clean” and food “wholesome, abundant and good,” the board reported.

AD CLUB PICNIC SATURDAY Affair at Planner Home Postponed Because of Harding Funeral. The Advertising Club of Indianapolsi will hold its picnic Saturday afternoon and night at the home of Frank B. Flanner, Forty-Third St. and Riverside D. The picnic was originally scheduled for today, but was postponed because of the funeral of President Harding. Second Redkey Bank Closes By Times Special REDKEY, Ind., Aug. 10.—A depositor’s run has closed the Farmers State Bank. Several days ago the bank of Redkey closed under similar conditions. A meeting of the stockholders will be held Aug. 17 and it is thought anew bank to be known as the Union State Bank of Redkey will be opened as a result of the consolidation of the two. Three Hurt in Train Wreck By Times Special ATTICA, Ind., Aug. 10.—Three men were injured when .a fast "Wabash train was derailed near Stateline, west of here, Thursday. Engineer Higgins of Peru suffered a bruised leg. August Young, colored, of Harrisburg, Pa., probably was fatally bruised under the wreckage. George Shawl of Gale, Okla., ran a spike through his foot.
