WATER COMPANY CHECKS UP DATA ' AS HEARING ENDS Oral Arguments in Rate Increase Case to Start Sept, 27, Employes of the Indianapolis Water Company were busy today checking up data concerning the number of consumers, the amount of water used and the amount paid by each consumer. This information will be presented "to the public service commission in. the pending rate increase case when) oral arguments are heard Sept. 27. , Hearing on the company's petition for increased rates closed at 5:15 p. m., Thursday, with testimony of Leonard Metcalf .water company engineer, who presented figures in an effort to refute testimony given by Benjamin Perk, expert city witness. Decision is not expected for several months. Many of the Scottish lochs are astonishingly deep, the--depth of one— Loch Maree—being known to exceed 1,000 feet.

CITY OFFICIALS NEAR ILLINOIS AUTO WRECK R. Walter Jarvis, superintendent of parks, and John L. Elliott, engineer, were within 200 feet of the scene of the fatal accident at Highland, 111., last Sunday. Elliott and Jarvis have returned from St.” Louis, where they inspected parks. The officials were en route to St. Louis by automobile. They did not see the accident, in which four persons were killed when their automobile was struck by a Pennsylvania passenger train. The wreck was on a crossing of a road which Joined the route the officials were traveling a short distance beyond the tracks.
