M& JOHN HURLEY SUES FOR DIVORCE for Separation Recalls Former Charges, Divorce and alimony, the amount to be decided by the court, is asked in a suit filed in Superior Court by Mrs. Gertrude YY. Hurley, 38, of 2440 Central Ave., against John E. Hurley, 56, of 617% N. Illinois St., retired undertaker. Mrs. Hurley alleges that Hurley struck her, wilfully slandered her name, maintained a watch over her actions, refused to live in the family residence, accused her of infidelity and an attempt to poison him and was moody. The suit is a sequel to sensational charges filed by Hurley against his wife last December, in which he accused her of inveigling him into marriage, and then persuaded him to assign her more than $60,000 worth of property, including a palatial home jat 4450 College Ave. He “cowardly 'dismissed” the suit when it came to trial after causing her name to be given "great publicity,” Mrs. Hurley claimed. Frank C. Riley, attorney for Hurley, denied all the charges for his client, and stated that he will file counter suit for divorce in which he will ask for $25,000 alimony for Hurley. HEARING ON PROTEST SET Property Owners Remonstrate Against Building of Temple. Remonstrances against erection of the Beth-El Hebrew Temple at Ruckle and Thirty-Fourth Sts., will be heard by the city board of zoning appeals Aug. 14. Property owners have protested that the temple would depreciate neighborhood property values. Four proposed amendments to the zoning law will be considered by city council Monday night. They include residential classification for Broad Ripple and University Heights.
