Y„ Wednesday afternoon, was an Indiana man, recruited here, according to Lieut. Q. O. Blessing, commander of the local United States Navy recruiting station, today. Thompson enlisted July 17, 1823. His home is at Blanford, Ind. His mother Is Mrs. Margaret Thompson of Blanford, according to recruiting reoords. He was on a leave of absence from the United States destroyer Balnbridge, and was dancing a sort of a highland fling with other sailors when he whirled too near the edge of the platform of the Sands St. (Brooklyn) "L” station. He fell to the eastbound rails and his head rested on the fatal third ralL Six women In the crowd fainted as blue flashes enveloped the body.
