KLAN TO BE ISSUE AT FRATMEETING Phi Delta Kappa President Will Lead Attack, By Time Special MARION, Ind., Jujy 16. The KuKlux Klan was to be an Issue at the national convention of the Phi Delta Kappa fraternity, which opened a four-day session today at Dayton, Ohio. Robert Kaaer of this city, national president, will lead an attack on members of the organization he charges with attempting to make the fraternity a Junior order of the Klan by controlling its affairs. Edgar Allen Moss, former editor of the Phi Delta Kappa magazine, will attempt vindication on the convention floor for his stand against Klan interference with the workings of the fraternity. Moss was ousted from the editor's chair for ‘‘un-Americanism.’’ He says his antagonism to the Klan caused his dismissal. “As president of the fraternity, I am not opposed to the Klan, nor am I In favor of it,” Kaser said. “I cannot see any connection between the Klan the fraternity.”

SUNDAY TRIPS TO LOUISVILLE PROVE POPULARAS EVER Vacationists Take Advantage of Summer Rates to Lakes, According to Bert Weedon, superintendent of the traffic department of the Interstate Public Service Company, the Sunday excursion business over the Interstate between Louisville and Indianapolis Is holdin i up to the high record made In 1922. These excursions are run from Louisville one Sunday and from Indianapolis the next. The special summer vacation business to the northern lake region which may be reached by lnterurban lines Is very good. It is estimated that last summer at least 160,000 people spent their vacations In Kosciusko County lake region. This includes Lake Wawasee, the largest lake in Indiana. The attractions at this lake this year Include a fine golf course, excellent hotels and facilities which go to make It one of the most attractive lake resorts In this part of the country. The Tippecanoe River also offers many attractions to the vacationists. Reduced fare tickets to these points are o nsale at all Interstate offices, effective until ths first of October. The Interstate will run a special train to Cedar Point, Ohio, July 17, for the accommodation of the Indiana traction men who will attend the annual midsummer convention of the Central Electric Railway Company. In the southern part of the State the Interstate Is doing a very fine business in hauling fruit: a night special Is run from Louisville every night, through the fruit-raising district, into Indianapolis.

Tenth St., succeeded In having Ivan Hummell, who she states is her husband by common law marriage, put under arrest today on anew warrant at Anderson. He is held in Jail there In default of a SI,OOO bond. Mrs. Hummell No. 1 eaid she lived with Hummell for fifteen years and that four years ago he deserted her and left the city with his stenographer, Miss Grace Hulls, whom he later married.
