Glim 37 DAYS BACK HOME (Continued From Page 1) She remained there but a short time, leaving- when her mother appeared at the doorway. ''^l From there she went to a garage in the rear of a residence in tbM neighborhood of her home, where slept all night in an automobile. The following day she went to the home of a neighbor. In the afternoon of that day, the girl said, a friend visited her and gave her $l5O. Forest Loy, 29, of 40 X. Emerson Ave., was arrested about a week after Miss Webb’s disappearance on a charge of contributing to the incorrigibility of Miss Webb. Loy at all times has denied knowledge of the girl’s wheretfouts. Letter of Introduction Part of the money was used to purchase clothing at a local department store, Frances said. * Webb received a telegram June 8, telling him of his daughter’s disappearance. He left Chicago for Indianapolis, and his train passed the one on which has daughter was riding to Chicago. Miss Webb charged she was given a letter of Introduction written by Loy to a relative named Shaw in Chicago. The letter stated, she asserted, she was a friend of Loy and was in Chicago to seek employment. She remained at this house in Chicago a week. She rented a room in the northern part of Chicago, where she remained the rest of the time, she said. The money was almost exhausted in three weeks. Then she obtained employment at a candy company, and later worked at a department store. Assumes Name _ Miss Webb returned home In H response to a letter from a man urging her to do so, she told her parents and detectives. This letter, she said, was received by her Wednesday and the writer asserted the girl’s parents h*td been "raising forty kinds of trouble,” that The Times was publishing a story daily concerning the disappearance, and that If the girl did not come back within three or four days he would be placed “on the State farm.” The letter added "Make your own decision.” Loy “Denies Everything ” Loy made this statement in regard to the dlsappea>rance of Miss Webb: "I deny everything. It looks like these people have a very clever frameup against me. I have not done anything I am ashamed to have my friends know. To be sure, I have made mistakes, but I have never in any way injured the girl. I am sure she will say this is true. "I did not write to Miss Webb because I did not know where she was. I did not give her a letter before she left. Some time ago she asked me if I had any relatives In Chicago. I told her I had relatives named Shaw and told her where they lived. I most certainly did not give her any money.” , While in Chicago, Miss Webb said, she went by the name of Roberta Evans. 4 Bather's Watch Stolen Lucille O’Brien, 1610 Fay.
