Constructed of buff brick, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Waldbieser marks a high ,degree of perfection In the combination of stability, comfort and beauty. The house, located at 5027 Washington Blvd., stands well back from the street with a drive leading past the south side of the house to the garage on the rear. The front entrance is rather formal with two stone steps leading up to the heavy, wide, hospitable looking door with side lights on either side; white columns rising from the ends of the door platform support a small balcony. The windows of the second story are shuttered with solid green shutters in a soft shade of green, which is repeated in the composition shingles of the roof. The windows
MM HOMES NOT INSURED Stein Insurance Company Has Speedy Service, Surprisingly inadequate is the fire insurance carried in Indianapolis by property owners, people who seem to take care of the details of business very carefully. People whose whole •state is confined to one piece of property will often overlook this very important matter and in time of fire will he without means of counteracting the devastating effects. During the first three and one-half months of this year the fire loss In this city totaled $373,008; on one day alone there were sixty-eight alarms answered, and yet many people will go without adequate insurance. According to Theodore Stein. Sr., of the Theodore Stein, Jr., Insurance Company. 240-244 Consolidated building, this company is urging property owners and all other citizens to take certain precautions against the starting of fires; especial attention is called to the necessity of keeping the premises free from rubbish, of care with matches and to be sure that the wiring for electricity and pipes for gas are properly installed and in good condition; particular care should be taken on the Fourth of July and Christmas, for many fires are caused then by use of fireworks and Christmas tree candles. Great care should be taken with benzine, kerosene, gasoline and other inflammable fluids. “Our establishment is one of the oldest in the city and our clientele appreciate the promptness with which their claims are met through our office and service that we re’nder them. Fire is ruthless and pathetically quick in its destruction, and the people who suffer such great losses are in need of immediate attention, and it is our policy to see that they get it.” DOG PUTS END 10 THEFT ATTEMPT A dog barked and frightened three would-be automobile thieves at 1 a. m. today when the men were attempting to start an automobile owned by Ted Schulmier. 4228 Winthrop Ave. The three men went into the yard at the home of Claude Rorark. 4242 Winthrop Ave. They attempted to start an automobile parked in the driveway at that address. Failing to get it started they went to the Schulmier residence and tried to start an automobile. They worked until frightened by the dog. They ran to a small roadster, parked in the -street, and drove rapidly away. Schulmier gave police an excellent description of the m - -

ALBERT WALDBIESER. 5027 WASHINGTON BOULEVARD. *of the first floor front are in triple j arrangement a Ith a decorative wood I motif place*! above them. Ivory Woodwork Used Effectively As one enters the beautiful center j hall with its gleaming ivory wood j work, rictyy accented by the use of I mahogany in the stairway that leads to the second floor, one realizes the far-reaching Influence that woodwork exerts in the characterization of an interior, and certainly Tom F. Nelson, designer and builder, used a very effective medium in this house. The house is planned with the long living room immediately to the right of the hall; the opening from the hall to the living room is very unusual, and as attractive as it is unusual. The entrance way Is rather large and flanked on either side by a grooved column with ionic cap. To the south and east of the living room is the sun parlor and in front of this sun par lor. accessible from either the latter or the living room, is a very at tractive porch which has a comprehensive view of the street and neighborhood. On the left of the center hall is the dining room with the | breakfast room and kitchen to the j cast of it in the order named The parquet floors with their rose ! taupe velour rugs furnish a delightful background for the. furnishings of ! the downstairs rooms. National City Bank Accommodates Many People, Practically nobody has ever achieved financial independence or business success in the true sense of the word unless he has borrowed some capital during the earlier stages of his career. Borrowing money Is one of the most commendable of all processes, provided it Is being borrowed for some worthwhile purpose. "We find,” said Miss Josephine Henley of the National City Bank, “that home building furnishes a better Incentive for regular saving than any other. We assist the builder in saving enough for his first cost, and then it is always possible for him to make terms or borrow for the rest. “Somewhere in the hearts of every man is the desire to own a home of his own, the desire to have a house that will embody the ideals of a home as he has dreamed them. The joy and saiisfaction, the pride of ownership and the comfort, is worth far more than it costs. '“House financing sounds a lot bigger than it really is—it doesn't take a lot of money to begin, and the effort it entails is outweighed by the wealth of satisfaction. Rent paying amounts to a lot of money, and there's no satisfaction in It. At the end of the year there is nothing tb show for the money expended but some receipted bills. That same amount of money, spent for building, would show a real return—a home of your own.”

F’ems and colorful lamps, together with a wicker cage housing a happy, light-hearted bi.-d, further intensify the note of cheerfulness in this room The floor of the porch, which opens out from the sun parlor. Is of red blocked cement. Wicker furniture and plants make this a cool and restful retreat. The dining room is furnished in massive mahogany of a colonial pat tern; the blue and gold of the paper In this room lend color to the room. Bold white and black strip" paper with flaming macaws covers the walls of the breakfast room, which is altogether pleasing and convenient in its arrangement; a china closet with cupboards below composes the entire couth wall of the room. The woodwork of the kitchen is gray and the granite linoleum affords a harmonious color scheme, the same kind of linoleum covers the breakfast room. The kitchen is very compact and convenient with its well-placed closets and pantry space. Bathroom a Model in Arrangement Tiled nearly to the top. the fixtures of square type, the snowy whiteness of the bathroom is broken only by the gray border .that appears in the tiled floor. The arrangement of the bath is so planned as to utilize all possible space, and although the bath is smaller than the ones often seen, there are few if any that afford more convenience. On the west side of the room, there cure two windows which emit plenty of air and light. Between them and the adjoining walls there ar built in cabinets which furnish ampje space for all linens and medi
HANDY DEVICES AID HOUSEWIFE Ragsdale Insurance Cos, Has Brisk Business, It is of vital consideration when one Is planning to build a home that he should see that only the very best grade of mill work is used. Specializing in huilt-in cabinets, window and door frames, and other interior finishings. the Ragsdale Lumber Company, 2132-54 ,N- Sherman Dr., is very we,ll equipped to take care of large orders since they have moved into their new and much enlarged quarters.
