POLICE HUNT FOR MEN WHO STAGED TWOJOBBERIES Couples Are Held Up on Road's Near City—Man Is Attacked. i Two highway robberies, each committed by two bandits, were being investigated by police today. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Nussear, 2727 N. Illinois St., were held up early today. They were In their automobile at Thirty-Eighth St. and Keppler Ave., city limits, when the bandits blocked their way with an automobile. One covered Nussear with a revolver. Tho robbers forced Nussear to hand over S2B, a watch and chain. They took $7 from Mrs. Nussear. They permitted her to retain some small change. * The bandits were described as being young white men. Wilber Gates, 1633 W. Ohio St., and Miss Margaret Voris, R. R. No. 2, Franklin, Ind., were held up at White River Blvd., near Tenth St., Sunday night. The robbers took sls and a watch valued at S2O. Gates said the robbers forced them to get out of the automobile. One covered him with a revolver, while the other searched his pockets. They then demanded money of Miss Voris, but she said she did not have any and they did not molest her. One of the men Jerked the wires loose from the lights of the automobile and then ordered Gates and Miss Voris to get back into the car and drive away. The men appeared to be about 25 years old. Police believe the same men who held up Gates attacked Elisa Jefferson, colored, 927 Colton St., who was up In that vicinity by Edward Whited colored, 826 Economy St., with a large knife wound in his left shoulder.
