COUNCIL PUTS OFF ACTIONONDEFICIT Action of city council on ordinance appropriating $6,500 to make up a deficit in the sinking fund of the city park department will be deferred until the next regular meeting July 16, city officials said today. This decision was reached at a conference late Thursday between City Controller Joseph Hogue and John E. King, council president. Rumors of a special. meeting to take care of the deficit were current In city hall Thursday. Councilman Heydon Buchanan, opposed to the appropriation, lias suggested a temporary loan to the park board, but Hogue has insisted on straight appropriation. Still Found in Operation An early raid today on the home of Frank Trauner, 35, of 2919 W. Tenth St., by Lieutenant McGee and squad resulted in finding a still of fifteen gallons capacity in/operation, police said. Trauner was arrested on the charge of operating a blind tiger.
