CONGREGATION AND PASTOR UNABLE TO MEND DIFFERENCES Wide Gap Remains at Englewood Christian ChurchBoard Still Firm, The controversy between the Rev. Frank E. Davison, pastor of the Englewood Christian Church, and some of the members of the congregation as a result of Davison’s objection to a meeting to be held at the church Thursday night appeared at a standstill today. Persons involved were hesitant about talking. “I think the matter should rest for a while,” said \V. T. Quillln, president of the Englewood Hustling Hundred, the church organization which planned the meeting. Quillin has denied the meeting is to be a Ku-Klux Klan affair as Davison has charged. Quillin said he knew nothing of a proposed demand for the resignation of Davison and said he knew of nT> plans for a meeting of the church board. Quillin refused to indicate the pro-’ gram of the meeting other than to say it will he open to the public. “I don't care to say who will speak,” he said. “We had one speaker pro cured and someone got to him and persuaded him not to appear.” Davison was equally reticent about discussing the affair. He said he knew of no plans for a meeting of the boar ! “Quillin is a very close friend of mine and I regret very much he doesn’t view the situation as I do,” Davison said.
